2008 nissan maxima review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The nissan maxima is an individualistic, indulgently luxurious, powerful, innovative and stylish full-size sedan. The only transmission available is a continuously variable automatic (cvt). The maxima is offered in two distinct trims: the sporty 3. 5 se and the more luxuriously equipped 3. 5 sl. Safety features that come standard include the advanced air bag system with dual-stage front air bags, front-seat side-impact air bags, and curtain side-impact air bags for front and rear outboard occupants; and front-seat active head restraints. A sophisticated traction control system and a tire-pressure monitor also come standard. The nissan maxima carries over from 2007.
